What do you do when you have a question to which you can’t find a definitive answer? Chances are, you Google it and then have to filter through masses of information to find what sounds right to you. That’s fine. Or is it? When it comes to questions about tea, we take a different approach. Call us old-fashioned, but when we have a question we don’t know the answer to, we look it up in a book. Or we contact one of our tea expert friends around the world and ask for their advice. Maybe it’s because we’re old. Or it could be because we are just sick of seeing so much misinformation on the internet.
And now you know why we decided to create The English Tearoom online magazine.
The English Tearoom online magazine: adapting to the times
If you have attended one of our seminars or workshops, or visited our shop in Stuttgart, you will know that we love to talk and discuss tea. And in Christian’s case, discuss politics. And religion. Because whatever the subject, conversation is always best over a cup of tea.
There’s no getting away from the fact that shopping is not what it used to be. With the trend towards online shopping rather than in store shopping, face-to-face conversations are less frequent. If you are reading this article, it is likely that drinking tea is part of your daily ritual. The type and quality of tea you choose for this ritual will affect the quality of your day. As times change, our role remains the same – to select teas for you to enjoy that meet our own very high standards. A new challenge however is to provide you with easy access to the knowledge you need to enjoy them, regardless of whether you visit us in person or order online. The aim of The English Tearoom online magazine is to create a platform for the conversations to continue.
Inspiration and article types – what do you want to know?
Our intention with The English Tearoom online magazine is to answer the questions and have the discussions that we would enjoy if you were to visit our shop. Some articles are based on the conversations we have had and the questions you have asked us over the years. Others have been inspired by the experiences we have had on our tea-related travels and the wonderful people we have met on our own lifelong tea journey.
But what would you like to know? Send us your question or idea for an article and we’ll either answer you directly or create a feature that will appear in the magazine for all to see.
And last but not least: thank you
It has been over twelve years since we opened the English Tearoom in Stuttgart. Thank you for supporting us, inspiring us and, as times change, motivating us to create The English Tearoom online magazine.
